When will the new course structures be introduced?  

The timing of the project is intended to enable the new course structures to be introduced in conjunction with the re-engineering of academic administrative processes and implementation of a new student information management system at UTAS in 2010 through the SLIMS Project.

Revision of the existing course structures will be carried out progressively during 2008 and early 2009 for introduction in 2010. The timeframes for the introduction of the new course structures will align with the normal University Teaching and Learning meeting in May 2009 for the introduction of new courses for 2010 and with DEEWR publication dates deadlines for 2010.

Students will be moved across to the new course structures in 2010 with full credit transfer between the old and the new degrees.  The transition period will be managed to ensure that no student is disadvantaged by the introduction of the new course structures.
